Anti-drug operation in Marsicovetere: over 400 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine seized

The Provincial Carabinieri Command of Potenza continues with unwavering determination its constant and comprehensive efforts to combat drug trafficking and dealing throughout the province. The daily commitment of the Companies and Stations, true bastions of legality rooted in the territory, translates into unceasing preventive and repressive activity aimed at protecting public health and disrupting illicit drug distribution networks.

In this context, as part of a targeted service aimed at the prevention and repression of drug-related crimes, the military of the Mobile Radio Operations Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Viggiano, with the fundamental support of a canine unit of the Carabinieri Canine Unit of Tito, they conducted a significant operation in the municipality of Marsicovetere.

During the activity, inside an old building located in the central area of the town, in an impromptu situation, were found two separate cellophane bags containing narcotic substances of the cocaine type, for a total weight of approximately 416 grams, and “crack”, for a weight of approximately 47 grams.

The huge amount of drugs, which once placed on the market would have generated significant illicit profits, was immediately subjected to criminal seizure against unknown persons and sent to specialized laboratories for the routine chemical-toxicological analyses necessary to confirm the type and active ingredient of the substances.
