Barile: attacks an acquaintance with two stab wounds to the chest due to past disagreements that were never clarified. 40-year-old arrested.

Previous disagreements and unresolved conflicts would have been at the basis of the crazy gesture committed by a 40-year-old from Barile who, armed with a knife, he attacked an acquaintance of his by stabbing him twice in the chest.

The request for help arrived in the middle of the night at the Single Emergency Number 112 which reported to the Operator of the Operations Center of the Carabinieri Company of Melfi a violent fight between two men that took place in the city streets of Barile.

On site, the soldiers of the local Carabinieri Station and the Melfi Radiomobile immediately started investigations, identifying the protagonists and collecting all the elements useful for reconstructing the facts.

The picture drawn by the investigators' work has allowed us to ascertain that they could be attributed to issues dating back to the past, which remained unresolved and then became real hatred, the reasons why a 40-year-old local decided to grab a knife and attack a peer originally from a nearby town but domiciled in Northern Italy. The victim, hit in the chest by two stab wounds, managed to find the strength to react by knocking down his attacker and, in fact, managing to escape a more serious epilogue.

The victim and the attacker were rescued by health personnel from 118 Basilicata and first transported to the Melfi Hospital to then be transferred to the one in Potenza for the necessary treatment.

The elements collected by the Carabinieri, with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor on duty of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Potenza, including the discovery and the contextual seizure of the knife used by the attacker, ensured that the man who committed the attack was arrested and guarded by the Carabinieri at the place of hospitalization, awaiting medical clearance for his transfer to the Potenza prison.

Late yesterday morning, the GIP of the Court of Potenza validated the arrest made by the military of the Arma, ordering the precautionary custody in prison of the 40-year-old from Barile, for whom, it should be remembered, the presumption of innocence still applies until a definitive sentence of conviction.
