Potenza: Carabinieri conduct extraordinary checks, arresting two drug dealers and seizing cocaine, heroin, and ecstasy.

Il Provincial Command of the Carabinieri of Potenza has ordered a significant intensification of controls on the territory, aimed at resolutely combating all forms of illegality - in particular predatory crimes , widespread crime — in view of the increased traffic and movement associated with the Christmas holidays.

During the extraordinary services, active throughout the province, significant results were also obtained in the fight against trafficking and dealing of narcotic substances.

Arrest in Viggiano: 12,7 grams of cocaine and 850 euros seized

Late last weekend afternoon, the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Carabinieri Company of Viggiano arrested a man red-handed 38-year-old of Dominican origins, resident in the province of Naples, caught while selling drugs to third parties in the town center.

The personal and vehicle search resulted in the seizure of: 12,7 grams of cocaine divided into three envelopes, and 850 euros in cash, considered to be the proceeds of the illegal activity

The man has been associated with the Potenza County Jail upon order of the Judicial Authority.

Arrest in Potenza: cocaine, MDMA and packaging material

Almost simultaneously, during the night between Saturday and Sunday, the Radiomobile Unit of the Potenza Company, together with the Carabinieri of the Tito Station, arrested a citizen Tunisian, resident in the Foggia area but domiciled in Potenza.

The man's suspicious behavior near an isolated house led to a search, which led to the discovery of: 10 grams of cocaine, 1,5 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), 3 grams of cutting agent, a precision scale, and some material for packaging.

This individual was also taken to prison in Potenza. Both arrests were validated by the GIP of the Court of Potenza.

The overall result obtained confirms the effectiveness of the extraordinary device set up by the Carabinieri, which proved essential in:

• prevent the infiltration of criminal activities even from other regions;

• support the daily action of the territorial force;

• to strengthen the perception of security and the protection of public order throughout the province of Potenza.
