Trieste, work begins on the garden in Vicolo dell'Edera-Pendice Scoglietto

Trieste, work began today (Thursday 23 September) to create the new garden in Vicolo dell'Edera-Pendice Scoglietto, on an area of ​​approximately 2.700 mXNUMX, currently in a state of abandonment and closed to the public, which extends into a densely populated area, near the connected municipal nursery “Zucchero Filato”. The director of the Road and Public Green Service of the Municipality of Trieste Andrea de Walderstein, the designer arch. Rita Ressmann, the surveyor Filippo Cesarotto for the Sartori SRL sports facilities company of Casalserugo (Pd) which will carry out the works, the forestry official Francesco Panepinto and the architect. Carmelo Nino Trovato, "historic" coordinator of the public green areas of the Municipality of Trieste, at his last start of work before his well-deserved retirement.

The intervention, worth over 200 thousand euros, of which 30 thousand for the play area, will be carried out in 4 months, i.e. by next January, will also see the arrangement of the fences, the pedestrian paths, the play area and the creation of an area dedicated to dogs, providing for specific maintenance and care of the greenery. The intervention falls within the scope of the general maintenance and enhancement plan for green spaces and play areas, initiated and followed by the Municipality of Trieste with the aim of making all gardens and areas increasingly adequate, functional, usable and safe. game of the districts of our city.

Going into the details of the works – he explained – these will concern the removal of the entrance gate, the damaged fences, the furnishings and the games present. A new entrance will therefore be created from vicolo dell'Edera (with concrete access ladder and related gate), an internal path in eco-friendly draining concrete, a new water line for the installation of two fountains with drinking water, a play area and an area dedicated to dogs, with relative fences and gates. The perimeter fences will be redone and new street furniture will be provided with benches, baskets and new games for children with related anti-trauma flooring. The garden will be accessible without architectural barriers from the street entrance, as well as from the garden of the nearby nursery school.

The planned interventions will also improve from a naturalistic point of view, with the redevelopment of green areas, the creation of an eco-friendly drainage path and the placement of play structures and street furniture elements, for the benefit of the inhabitants and of the area and of our city .

During the meeting it was finally confirmed that the Municipality of Trieste will extend the summer opening hours of the municipal public gardens beyond the usual 30 September and until 15 October.
