“A few weeks after the annual meeting of the Confindustria of Italy, France and Germany which took place here in Berlin, we wanted to bring together this Business Forum today because the Government has put the strategy of the growth diplomacy”, comments Tajani on the sidelines of his participation in the Italy-Germany Business Forum.

In the context of Italian-German intergovernmental summit underway today in Berlin, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, spoke at the Business Forum held at the headquarters by the association of German industrialists, together with the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Sen. Adolfo Urso, and the German Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economy and Climate Protection, Robert Habeck .

The meeting, which continued with interventions by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Olaf Scholz, saw the participation of leading representatives of Confindustria and the similar German association, as well as important Italian companies.

“A few weeks after the annual meeting of the Confindustrie of Italy, France and Germany which took place here in Berlin, we wanted to bring together this Business Forum today because the Government has put the strategy of growth diplomacy at the center of its action, aimed at strengthening exports and encouraging the internationalization of the Italian productive fabric", declared the Deputy Prime Minister.

Tajani also highlighted that “Germany is a natural interlocutor of strategic importance for Italy, as our first commercial partner, our first customer and supplier, to which we are linked by a perfect complementarity between economic systems; but we want to do more, encouraging new forms of collaboration between companies and focusing on new and innovative projects in key sectors such as energy, mobility, connectivity, infrastructure, defense and security".

The meeting allowed us to delve deeper into the collaboration in economic and industrial sectors of priority interest, such as energy, defense and security, infrastructure and transport, finance, packaging, components, automotive and pharmaceuticals.
It should be remembered that between 2020 and 2022 bilateral trade reached record figures, increasing by 50 billion euros, reaching 168 billion euros last year. To date, over 2000 Italian companies operate in Germany, with 110 thousand employees and a turnover of more than 60 billion euros.
