Giambruno case, the secret services have nothing to do with it: the two caught near his car were thieves
Mantovano: «Prime never at risk»
Giambruno case, the secret services have nothing to do with it: the two caught near his car were thieves.
A problem seems to have been resolved /// which, in addition to having attracted the attention of public opinion for days, had moved the leaders of the police authorities for months. Two men, on the night of November 30, 2023, they had suspiciously approached the car Andrew Giambruno, former partner of the Prime Minister Meloni. For weeks we tried to understand who they were, even going so far as to hypothesize the involvement of godmen secret services.
Today, finally, according to the official reconstruction, we know that it was simply a question of alleged thieves: two men who at night were looking for spare parts to steal, but with no interest in the prime minister Meloni.
The car in question was located under the Prime Minister's house and so a surveillance officer stopped the men, asking what they were doing. The two, who were fiddling with a torch in their hands, they said they were their colleagues, waving a supposed badge and leaving before being identified. Shortly afterwards, however, a quick check showed that they were not policemen.
The case had alarmed the police chief Victor Pisani and the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi. The suspicion was that, given the approach to the car of Giambruno (although the public separation between the two had recently occurred), there was an attempt to trace Meloni.
Alfred Mantovano, the undersecretary with responsibility for the Services, had spoken about the case before the Copasir on April 4th. A few days ago, the same undersecretary confirmed publicly that there was no involvement of the services in the case and that Meloni she was never at risk.
“I promptly reported on the episode that occurred under the Prime Minister's home on the night between 30 November and 1 December, while President Meloni was engaged in a mission abroad. – as delegated Authority for the security of the Republic – in my last hearing at Copasir on 4 April. I have no difficulty in reiterating what has already been clarified in the proper parliamentary office, namely that the investigations carried out for the intelligence part made it possible with certainty to exclude the involvement of members of the Services in the episode, and that President Meloni's safety was never put at risk". Thus states a note from the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano.
