Striscia, Soumahoro case: exclusive interview with the director of Caritas of San Severo.
Tonight at Strip the news (Channel 5, 20.35pm) Pinuccio returns to the case di Aboubakar Soumahoro, self-suspended a few hours ago as a deputy of the Green and Left Alliance, with the first and only television interview with Don Andrea Pupilla, director of the Diocesan Caritas of San Severo.
In the past, Soumahoro had raised 16 thousand euros to give gifts to the children of the San Severo ghetto, announcing the initiative with great prominence dressed as Santa Claus in a video. Did those gifts ever arrive for the little ones? Don Andrea Pupilla assures that «In the Torretta Antonacci ghetto there are no children».
«I won't go into the merits of the legal matter, but there is a problem of coherence» continues Don Andrea, who adds: «You cannot accuse local associations of doing business with immigration and then this situation emerges in your home. It is a problem on a moral level».
Pinuccio adds that those who were in the area had known about these controversial rumors for some time soumahoro and asks the Honorable Nicola Fratoianni, Aboubakar's political sponsor: «If you had heard of something wrong, wouldn't it have been better to look into it further before nominating it?».
Candidacy that doesn't even convince Don Andrea: «The choice of candidates must be made more carefully, listening to the territories: the representatives of the people must be chosen from the base. I don't know if Soumahoro "used" the ghetto to create a career for himself: I'll limit myself to saying that we shouldn't use the poor, but serve the poor. And don't exploit it».
Aboubakar Soumahoro ended up in the eye of the storm for lo scandal of social cooperatives managed by his wife and mother-in-law (who was investigated) for unpaid wages, mistreatment, illegal work and false invoices and for funds disappeared from the Laborers' League, after the accusations, collected by Strip the news, of two of his former partners.
