Rome, ten children arrived from Haiti: they will be adopted by Italian families

The note from Palazzo Chigi

Rome, ten children arrived from Haiti: they will be adopted by Italian families.

Il Government has taken steps to ensure that it reaches Italy ten children from Haiti adopted by Italian families, which for security reasons related to the serious situation underway in the Caribbean nation, marked by a devastating crime, they had not been able to leave their residences so far (nine were in the capital Port Au Prince and one in a location approximately 200 km away).

The children had been waiting for months to be able to join their Italian families, with whom they had only had remote contact. The children and the personnel assisting them took off a few hours ago and are expected to arrive today at the 31st Wing, Ciampino airport (Rome), with a flight made available by the Security Services.

“The operation was conducted as soon as the minimum guarantee conditions were restored, in order to avoid the risk that the criminal gangs, recently responsible for the brutal murder of two American missionaries and a Haitian prelate, could also raid in orphanages". Makes it Palazzo Chigi.

“The positive result is the result of collaborative action between Aise, the Farnesina crisis unit, the ministry for the family, birth rate and equal opportunities, the Italian embassy in Santo Domingo, the Honorary Consulate in Port Au Prince and the Adoption Commission international", we read again in the note.
