At the opening of the proceedings, the speech of the Undersecretary of State for Culture with responsibility for Photography, Lucia Borgonzoni"An art form that preserves our memory as well as a very powerful tool through which to read and understand the reality that surrounds us, photography plays a leading role in the construction of the cultural identity of Italy to come. This is why we felt it was necessary to dedicate greater attention to the world of photography, first of all identifying specific resources and developing an action plan aimed at supporting and promoting Italian excellence in the sector on a global scale. The tools presented today are the result of this decisive change of pace compared to the commitment made so far, they denote a renewed sensitivity towards an extremely varied and rapidly evolving supply chain and speak of a clear desire to respond in a concrete and increasingly punctual manner to the real needs of the sector".

"We won't stop here - has continued - We will try to highlight Italian photography with every possible tool available to the MiC and also during large-scale events such as the Frankfurt International Book Fair".

Following the speech of the Director General of Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, Angelo Piero Cappello"We are extremely satisfied with the work carried out in recent months and I would like to express particular thanks to Minister Sangiuliano and Undersecretary Borgonzoni for their significant commitment in valorising photography as a fundamental form of creative expression in our country. The positive responses received from the first three editions of Strategia Fotografia confirm the urgent need for concrete institutional actions that support high-quality, long-term projects. This commitment also extends beyond national borders, aiming to promote Italian photography as a key to understanding our culture and identity at an international level, thus intensifying our global dialogue through visual art".

"Photography is a tool for personal, family and collective narration: the history of our nation also unfolds through shots that have told us about decisive moments in our story. Among contemporary creative expressions, this art is the one most capable of capturing the spirit of the context on which it intervenes while at the same time leaving the observer a great imaginative space and opening a thousand horizons to the beholder. For this reason it is necessary to increase the energy and resources that the Ministry of Culture allocates to this form of expression which has long been neglected by state institutions, multiplying the opportunities for protecting what already exists and promoting what will be, just as envisaged by the new Plan strategic for the development of photography in Italy and abroad 2024-2026”, stated the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano.
