President Meloni reiterated the Government's solidarity with the population hit by the violent natural disasters of recent days and acquired the most recent information on the situation of the displaced and the progress of relief efforts.

The Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, chaired a video link meeting on Friday 20 September with Emilia Romagna on the emergency caused by bad weather that hit the region.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Civil Protection and Marine Policies In the Musumeci, the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council Alfredo Mantovano, the acting Vice President of the Emilia Romagna Region Irene Priolo, the Head of the Civil Protection Department Fabio Ciciliano and the Government Commissioner for the reconstruction of the areas hit by the flood in Emilia Romagna, Tuscany and Marche Francesco Paolo Figliuolo.

President Meloni reiterated the solidarity of the Government to the population affected by the violent natural disasters of the last few days and has acquired the most recent information on the situation of the displaced and on the progress of the relief efforts.

Furthermore, the President assured that, as soon as the request for a declaration of a state of emergency from the Emilia Romagna Region reaches the Government, a Council of Ministers will be convened to allocate 20 million euro to meet initial needs and restore essential services, and that further funding will be made available following the assessments following the emergency.
