Monza, distribution of masks and facial protection
Monza, as of Monday 15 June, 35 thousand certified surgical masks will be distributed free of charge in the ten municipal pharmacies. This is the first tranche of 100 thousand devices of protection made available to its fellow citizens by the Municipality of Monza in collaboration with FarmaCom.
Prudence and protection for Phase 2. «The epidemiological curve has started a slow and, we hope, definitive decline a few weeks ago, explains Mayor Dario Allevi. But precisely to avoid a reversal of the trend, this is not the time to let our guard down. In this phase, in fact, the use of protective devices as well as compliance with social distancing is still essential. This new distribution is the result of important donations that I have received in recent days and goes in the direction of a further invitation to prudence and responsibility to all citizens. I ask citizens who can buy masks to leave this opportunity to those who need it most."
100 thousand masks in two steps. In a first phase, 3.500 surgical masks for a total of 35 thousand will be delivered to each of the ten municipal pharmacies. Pharmacies will distribute a pack of ten for each citizen who requests it. It will be sufficient to show up at the pharmacy with your identity card or health card to prove your residence in Monza. Once the surgical masks have run out, the second phase will involve the distribution of 65 face protectors. Distribution must take place in compliance with the measures in force for the containment of the Coronavirus epidemic: gatherings must therefore be avoided and a safety distance of at least one meter between people in line must be maintained.
Municipal pharmacies on the front line of the emergency. This operation is part of the now extraordinary collaboration between the Municipality of Monza and FarmaCom, the company that manages the municipal pharmacies in Monza. «We have firmly supported the Municipal Administration's proposal – explains the president of FarmaCom Vito Potenza – because we are convinced of the "social" role of municipal pharmacies. In this health emergency we have been on the front line with our staff and we want to continue to be so also in Phase 2 with the distribution of these safety devices to protect the health of every single citizen and of the entire community, especially the weakest and most vulnerable groups. fragile"
