Undersecretary Silli's mission to Miami for meetings with Italian businesses and scientific and cultural community in Florida

The Undersecretary of State George Silli completed a mission on November 8th Miami, characterised by a complex programme of meetings with the Italian business, scientific and cultural community in Florida.

Silli met some of the major Italian companies in Florida at the General Consulate. “The South-East of the United States, and in particular Miami and Florida, have recorded robust economic and financial growth in recent years, with total trade between Florida and Italy amounting to 4,8 billion dollars in 2023,” commented the Undersecretary, who continued “This state is home to over four hundred Italian companies, which employ thousands of people: today I therefore renewed the Government's constant attention to this important reality, which demonstrates the competitiveness of the Italian industrial system also on the American market”.

Subsequently, Undersecretary Silli met with numerous representatives of the world of culture, science and Italian business in Florida and the south-east of the United States, in the context of the new Italian Cultural Institute. “You are a community in constant growth” – he declared Herring "there are more and more compatriots who are making their mark, not only in business, but also in the most varied areas of American society as scholars, scientists, artists. Accompanied by Consul General of Italy and the heads of Fincantieri Infrastructure, the Undersecretary finally visited the construction site of the new MSC Passenger Terminal – among the largest in the world – under construction at the Port of Miami.
