Milano, via Palestro: commemoration initiatives for the 31st anniversary of the attack.

On Saturday 27 July, the day of the 31st anniversary, the city will remember the victims of the mafia attack that hit the Contemporary Art Pavilion.

At 9:30 in Via Palestro, at the height of the place where the Fiat Uno loaded with TNT, will take place commemoration ceremony in the presence of the authorities.

With the laying of crowns under the plaque located where the incident occurred massacre, which will be followed by institutional interventions, the memory of the firefighters will be honoured Carlo La Catena, Sergio Pasotto and Stefano Picerno, who rushed to the scene shortly before the explosion; of the local police officer, Angelo ferrari who, seeing the smoke coming out of the car, had requested 112 intervention; Of Moussafir Driss, homeless man of Moroccan origin, struck to death by a sheet of metal while he was sleeping on a bench.

The commemoration will continue in the evening of Saturday July 27 with two other moments: at 21 pm at the Fire Brigade detachment of Milano, in via Benedetto Marcello, one will be celebrated Holy Mass in memory of the victims.

A follow-up will take place at 22pm, in via Palestro 30 moment of memoryIn partnership with Free Milano, which will be concluded at 23 pm by the sound of the sirens of the Fire Brigade and Local Police vehicles which will accompany the minute of silence at the exact time in which the car bomb was detonated, killing those who had already rushed to the scene and destroying a part of the Contemporary Art Pavilion of the Gallery of Modern Art.
