Meloni: «I expect unity and support for Ukraine from the NATO summit».
«My expectation is that NATO on its 75th anniversary, and in a very particular historical moment, sends a great message of unity and ability to adapt to a world that is changing». The premier said so Giorgia Meloni from Washington, on the eve of NATO summit.
«Italy brings the necessary attention to the southern front of the Alliance, which is currently included in the conclusions of the summit», he added Meloni explaining that «Support for Ukraine is also clearly expected».
Support, continued the Prime Minister, «which will not be missing from this summit either». As for Italy's focus on the southern front, Meloni noted that it is one «demonstration of how NATO must be able to imagine its role in an extremely complex geopolitical context". The Prime Minister then spoke out «satisfied with the work we have done so far».
«The images of children suffering from cancer on the streets following the bombing of the children's hospital in Kiev seem frightening to me». So Meloni. "When you attack the civilian population like this, and you do it with this vehemence, targeting children, the signals that arrive are decidedly different from those that a certain Russian propaganda would like to convey", added the premier referring to Moscow's declared desire to seek peaceful solutions to the conflict in Ukraine.
«The idea of an openly pro-Putin group seems to me to be a reconstruction by observers». Meloni This is how she responded to the question of whether she was worried about the birth of a Putinian right-wing group in Europe, with reference to the formation of the patriot of the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
