Lollobrigida: “The wine sector is a strategic asset for the economy”

“Italy without wine would be a poorer nation, from all points of view. From an economic point of view, because it is a strategic asset of our economy, with more unemployment, because thousands and thousands of jobs are linked to wine and its related industries. It would be a nation with more environmental problems because you just need to look around when you cross the Chianti hills, the lands of Prosecco, Amarone and wherever there are vineyards, and you see nature that is protected and well maintained. It would be a nation that loses a piece of its culture, as can also be seen in art, because wine has also been an important subject for many painters, poets, artists and so on." Thus the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, at Wine News, a trade magazine, in view of the International Wine Conference (Wine Ministerial Meeting) scheduled in Franciacorta and Verona from 11 to 13 April 2024 and Vinitaly.
