Liguria, Cipess authorizes additional 1,6 billion to complete the third crossing and the Genoa hub.
One billion and 634 million euros for the Ligurian railway infrastructure. This is what was approved by the Interministerial Committee for Economic Planning and Sustainable Development (Cipess) in the update of the RFI program contract.
The Cipess has, in fact, assigned within the program contract between the Ministry of Transport and the Italian Railway Network 2022-2026 another 7,6 billion euros (4,4 already allocated by law and 3,2 to be assigned to specific works). Among these, the Terzo Valico dei Giovi is included in the “restricted” ones with over 1,2 billion euros, while 400 million “not restricted” have been assigned to the Nodo di Genova and the Terzo Valico.
"Another great result that strengthens the infrastructure investments essential for Liguria –says the interim president of the Liguria Region-, without which we would continue to pay for the isolation suffered in the past which characterized our territory and which today allows us, however, to also support the entire productive economic system".
"As a Region, we express great satisfaction for a result, obtained thanks to the great work of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, which will bring over 1,6 billion additional to our territory and which will serve largely to cover the extra costs of works, such as the Third Valico and the Genoa Node, essential for the economic and social growth of Liguria and the entire North-West." comments the regional councilor for economic development.
