Joint Stars 2025, Crosetto in Sardinia: “Security is the future, today”.
The Minister of Defence visits personnel engaged in the joint and multi-domain exercise: “Training and cooperation to face modern threats, from land to space”.
Il Minister Crosetto spent a day together with the Defense personnel involved, theIn Sardinia, in the Joint Stars 2025, Multi-domain and Inter-agency exercise, planned and conducted by the Joint Operations Command (COVI).
“Security cannot be taken for granted. It is the fruit of training, cooperation and readiness. Without security there is no freedom, without freedom there is no future, and at Joint Stars 2025 the future is today. From land to space: a Defense exercise that encompasses all operational domains integrating land, sea, air, cyber and space operations to address advanced threats, such as cyber attacks and the use of drones, reflecting the complexity of conflicts and current crisis scenarios. The involvement of State Bodies, Government Agencies and the academic world in planning complex scenarios is good. Because the security of the country is a shared responsibility between many actors”.
This was stated by Minister Crosetto who, during the visit, on board the Navy ship Trieste, witnessed a phase of the exercise in which the integrated air and missile defense system's response to a complex threat, typical of current conflict scenarios and areas, was demonstrated. Thanks to technologies capable of merging real, simulated and synthetic activities, it was possible to test the response capabilities and the level of operational readiness.
The Minister then went to the shooting range military of Capo Teulada, where the Armed Forces train in realistic and highly complex scenarios. Hybrid threats, sustained attacks, with the use of drones, integrated command and control: fundamental elements to face the challenges of modern conflicts.
