Important milestone achieved by the Municipal Administration of Campobasso in the field of waste management: over 2 million and 300 thousand euros in financing obtained

There are three projects of the Municipality of Campobasso approved and financed by the Ministry of the Environment as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which provide for the strengthening, improvement and mechanization of the separate urban waste collection network.

Important milestone achieved by the Municipal Administration of Campobasso in the field of waste management: over 2 million and 300 thousand euros in financing obtained.

The projects in question, presented jointly by the Municipality of Campobasso and SEA in March last year and results admitted, after a long selective process, by the ministerial decree published in recent days, will allow the city's waste cycle to be modernized and made more efficient and will give a decisive boost to the overall improvement of our city's waste management system.
The first project approved and financed, for an amount of 523.700,00 euros, aims to strengthen and reorganize the Santa Maria de Foras Collection Center with interventions to adapt and reorganize activities, access control, weighing of incoming materials and purchase of a demountable Ecomobile equipped for reuse.
Furthermore, an ERP/IOT digital platform will be created capable of modernizing and optimizing the entire TARI administrative management and providing, through an application accessible to users, guided interactions for the taxpayer on services and on the entire world of separate waste collection.
The second financed project (for an amount of €798.180) is for the supply of eco-islands and video surveillance systems for the optimization of separate waste collection. It will allow the acquisition of 26 "intelligent" ecostations with controlled access, with an opening that allows identification of the contributor and verification of the volume delivered. The computerized structures, to be acquired through tender procedures, will be approximately of the same type as the experimental one installed in via Mazzini near the church of S. Francesco and will be used in the Murattiana area not yet served by timely separate waste collection, as well as in the streets Garibaldi, Mazzini, Monforte (including areas via Quircio and Fontanavecchia) on the basis of urban planning and landscape assessments. The same project also includes Video Surveillance systems for the monitoring and control of critical points in the area.
A further project admitted, for an amount of 1 million euros, is that of "intelligent bins" for the optimization of roadside waste collection. The supply of n. 165 intelligent bins, powered by solar energy, equipped with an internal press capable of reducing waste volumes and thus optimizing emptying by the manager who will be notified, via software, by an 'alert' when the bin fills up . These bins will therefore be a more efficient evolution of the current "courtesy" street bins, with greater capacities and structured with ergonomic characteristics such as to facilitate emptying operations by operators. The supply of the bins will also be combined with an adequate communication campaign, both in schools and among citizens, aimed at raising awareness among users about the correct use of this equipment.
