On 24 November, the Interior Ministry announced the confirmation of funds for projects for the prevention and protection of women: a concrete gesture to celebrate the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women" on 25 November.

A decision of great importance, which once again demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry of the Interior in combating this hateful phenomenon, a concrete gesture to celebrate the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women” on November 25th. Next January, the directive of the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, on the objectives of the Fund will be issued, followed by the specific public notice for the presentation, by public bodies and private bodies operating in the social welfare sector, of projects relating to this important purpose.

In honor of the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women", an agreement was also signed note condemning gender violence. A single voice unites the Presidents of the municipal councils of the main Italian cities: a joint message that will be read at the opening of the session, to ask the parliamentary representatives to act quickly in order to combat the phenomena of femicide, unfortunately constantly growing and which declares full condemnation of any act of violence.

Gender violence is a plague that crosses barriers of age, social class and culture, affecting our mothers, daughters, sisters and friends without distinction. It is a problem that concerns all of us, as individuals and as a society and about which we can no longer remain silent. We must work together to create a community that promotes mutual respect, equality and solidarity. Violence against women is a cultural and social problem and unfortunately the imbalance of power in relations between the sexes is still strong. A change is taking place, it's true, but it's not rapid. There hasn't been a real turning point yet because the inputs coming from the society we live in are conflicting. In this moment of pain, we join in condolences with Giulia's family and the families of all the women victims of feminicide. That their memory – concludes the note – be honored by concrete actions aimed at eradicating gender violence from our society. It is no longer the time for words, it is the time for action."
