Cremona, associations exempted from the fee for three months, support decided by the Council
Cremona, 16 June 2020 – The Cremona associations that have concessions on municipally owned premises have been exempted from paying the fee for three months. The decision, approved at the time by the Council on the proposal of Councilor Rodolfo Bona, was today communicated by the Municipality's Heritage Office to the presidents of the various associations. This is a form of support in the difficulties associated with the Covid-19 health emergency.
There are currently 48 onerous concession contracts for municipally owned premises with some local associations. The serious health emergency has highlighted economic criticalities such as to make it difficult for the members of the various associations to make a financial contribution in supporting the expenses that aggregative entities usually face in carrying out their activities.
Following a discussion with the representatives of the various entities, Councilor Rodolfo Bona, who is responsible for participation policies and associationism, expressed this critical issue. The possibility of taking into consideration, for the period connected to the most acute phase of the pandemic, the exemption of the fee to be paid to the Municipality was therefore assessed. The Council, as mentioned above, welcomed the proposal, considering it a fair form of support for these associations which have always played a very active role in various areas of the Cremonese community.
Based on the direction expressed by the Council, the issuing of the payment slip for the months of April, May and June 2020 will be suspended for associations that pay the fee monthly; for those who pay the fee with a different frequency, the suspension of the payment slip will take place at the first available deadline.
