Coronavirus, Gallera: 80.000 tests performed or booked, 66.187 already processed

200.000 kits delivered to healthcare companies and reference laboratories

Milano, 16 May 2020 – “There are almost 80.000 regional serological tests carried out or booked for citizens in fiduciary quarantine and for healthcare workers, at the disposal of the ATS and ASST of Lombardy. Among these, 66.187 have already been tried."

This was stated by the Welfare Councilor of the Lombardy Region, Giulio Gallera, commenting on the results of the serological analyses.

“The results of the blood samples for the identification of neutralizing antibodies – underlines Gallera – outline a well-defined situation. Among those in quarantine, the regional average of positivity stands at 42,1% out of 19.405 tests processed, with peaks of 60 in the Seriate area, 55 in the Brescia area and 47 in the area relating to the ASST of Crema".

“Among healthcare workers – explains Gallera – the number of positive cases stands at an average value of 13,6% on a regional basis, with fluctuations strictly correlated to the geographical spread of the pandemic. The weekly update of the data, according to the experts, confirms the goodness and effectiveness of the measures implemented by the Lombardy Region".

Following positivity ascertained through the serological test, the swab is ordered.

“The sampling continues incessantly – concludes Gallera – we have already delivered 200.000 kits to healthcare companies and reference laboratories. After doctors and nurses, in the next few days we will begin to carry out tests on members of the police force."
