Italy-Germany Collaboration: Tajani in Berlin and the focus on the agri-food sector

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, is in Berlin today for a mission to strengthen the ties between Italy and Germany. During the visit, he will participate in key meetings with political figures and will speak at the presentation of Italian excellence at the International Green Week, highlighting the strategic role of the agri-food sector in the bilateral economic partnership.

During the visit, the Minister will meet, as part of his ongoing discussions with his partners from the European People's Party, Friedrich Merz, Leader of the CDU, and Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg, and will take part in the working session “The State of the European Economy: Making the EU More Competitive” at the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus.

Tajani will then speak at the event, organised by the Italian Embassy, presentation of Italian industrial and technological excellence participants in theInternational Green Week, an important annual fair aimed at promotion of the agri-food sector. With 164 billion euros of total economic trade in 2023, the Germany remains Italy's largest trading partner.

Collaborazione Italia-Germania: Tajani a Berlino e il focus sul settore agroalimentare

On the sidelines of the event, Tajani will meet with representatives of the business community, the economic world, academia and research present. In the agri-food sector, the Germany represents the first destination country for Italy's exports of agri-food products, which exceeded 10 billion euros in 2023. Germany is also the main country of origin of Italian imports of agri-food products, for a value of almost 8 billion euros in 2023.
