Circular economy: 200 thousand euros to experiment with the "reuse center".
Lecco. Fondazione Cariplo has awarded a contribution of 200.000 € in favor of management experimentation of “reuse center”, a project that aims to overcome the disposable culture and promote the reuse of used goods, which prolongs their life cycle and reduces the quantity of waste produced.
Together with CSV Monza Lecco Sondrio, al ARCI Shared Space Club, to the Friends of Pedro and to the Paso social cooperative, the Municipality of Lecco will in fact launch a pilot project in Maggianico, waiting for the real “reuse center” is located in the Bione area, next to the municipal collection center, in a peripheral area, the subject of urban regeneration. Here citizens will be able to deliver used goods, still in good condition, which they intend to put back into circulation. Furthermore, inside the structure they will be carried out a series of artisanal restoration activities, aimed at valorising the asset and its reuse. On the basis of predefined calendars, it will finally be possible to go and acquire the available goods, under economic conditions and with rules that will be established.
Thus the Environment Councilor of the Municipality of Lecco Renata Zuffi"The reuse center is the most challenging of the projects linked to the circular economy. Reusing is thinking about a new use of our goods as they are, it is choosing a precise lifestyle based on sustainability, a mental and cultural attitude that takes shape in daily life through apparently insignificant gestures. The reuse center will not just be a physical place: thanks to the various actors involved in the project, these small gestures will be transformed into a real economic activity, which will aim to relocate and reinvent products that are still reusable".
