In Italy one in 77 children has an autism spectrum disorder. Males are affected 4,4 times more than females.

The Italian Society of Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry (Sinpia) explains this in view of the World Autism Awareness Day on April 2nd.

«The first signs of an autism spectrum disorder appear in very early childhood - highlights Elisa Fazzi, president of Sinpia and director of Child Neuropsychiatry Asst Spedali Civili and University of Brescia – already around 18 months. Thanks to greater knowledge of the disorder, it is now possible to intercept the risk signals, reaching a diagnosis within 2-3 years of age».

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella today he participated in Monza, at the inauguration of PizzaAut, the pizzeria where kids work autistic, which opens its second branch after the one in Cassina de' Pecchi.
