Attacks in Germany and Spain, Meloni: «Acts of blind violence against Europe».

«Acts of brutal and blind violence have once again struck Europe. I express my closeness and solidarity and that of the Italian Government to Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the President of the Government Pedro Sanchez, after the attacks that caused death and pain to defenseless citizens in Germany and Spain».

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni says so, who adds: «We must keep our guard up towards people and movements who want to destroy our societies and attack us for who we are».

The Premier's words come in the aftermath of the attacks occurred in Spain and Germany. In Algeciras (near Gibraltar), a sacristan was killed and a priest seriously injured by a man armed with a machete, which attacked two churches. Once the killer has been arrested, identification is awaited and the motive is being investigated.

In Germany, however, the attack occurred with a knife. On the Kiel-Hamburg regional train, a man attacked the passengers killing two and wounding seven. The alleged assailant is believed to be a 30-year-old Palestinian with mental problems already known to the German police forces.
