Vicenza, from the Easter weekend reduced admissions to the city's museums for visitors to the museums of Mantua.

UNESCO heritage cities, rich in museum and monumental assets, Vicenza and Mantua enter into an agreement for cultural and tourist promotion.

Together the two cities will implement strategies for the valorization of the territories, for the enhancement of cultural attractiveness through coordinated tourism promotion methods.

In Mantua the mayor of Vicenza Giacomo Possamai and the mayor of Mantua Mattia Palazzi signed the collaboration agreement for the cultural and tourist promotion of the two territories.

«Collaborating for cultural and tourist growth is a privilege and an opportunity – commented the mayor of Vicenza Giacomo Possamai -. We believe that the exchange of experiences is fundamental because it is through discussion that new opportunities can arise. Mantua is a city that is particularly attractive in the cultural field. Vicenza, city of Palladio, is appreciated by tourists but it can do more. Through the agreement we sign today we will launch a series of tourism promotion policies in synergy with Mantua starting from our museums. As early as the Easter weekend, visitors to the museums of Mantua will be able to visit the museums of Vicenza taking advantage of reduced rates».

«I strongly believe in the synergy between geographically bordering cities - says the deputy mayor with responsibility for Tourism Giovanni Buvoli -, but also united by important cultural aspects, as already done with Verona on the Veneto front and with Cremona, Brescia and Bergamo in Lombardy. Mantua and Vicenza have a significant museum and monumental heritage of historical, cultural and artistic interest. Mutual promotion of their territories can only be good for the two cities».

A first initiative resulting from the agreement, which establishes guidelines and areas of collaboration between Mantua and Vicenza, involves the respective museums.

Visitors who show up in Vicenza with the "Mantova Sabbioneta card" will be able to purchase the "Vicenza Card" and the "4 museums card" at a reduced rate and the reduced ticket for entry to the Olympic Theater and the Civic Museum of Palazzo Chiericati.

Conversely, by showing the "Vicenza Card" and the "4 museums Card" in Mantua, you will obtain reduced entry to Palazzo Te, the Maca museum of Palazzo San Sebastiano, the Tempio Leon Battista Alberti, the Teatro Scientifico Bibiena and Palazzo della Ragione.

The two Municipalities will continue to work to implement shared strategies such as the mutual promotion of cultural and tourist resources through their active communication channels such as websites, social networks, info points. They will study communication campaigns to promote their respective territories and the visit tools already active such as museum entry cards.

They will design itineraries, walks, cycle-tourist routes that connect Mantua and Vicenza starting from common historical, cultural and food and wine themes, also in collaboration with other cities and entities affected by the route.

The agreement also provides for the involvement of the respective library networks for mutual promotion and dissemination activities.

Working tables, workshops or other forms of synergies will be tools for exchanging experiences and good practices.

Cultural exchanges will involve citizens and associations of the two cities.

Forms of partnership will be activated for the candidacy of projects for Europeans promoted by other bodies.

Finally, the two cities will participate in events and demonstrations, also through the involvement of other institutional entities and/or public and private operators in the territories.
