La Spezia, the Unified Text which will recognize the Civic Theater as a "national monument" has been approved in the Chamber of Deputies. 

The provision that will recognize the Teatro Civico della Spezia as a "national monument" was voted on in the Chamber of Deputies and will pass to the Senate. On Wednesday afternoon the Unified Text put forward by the parliamentary group of Brothers of Italy was voted on, that sees among the voters also the deputy from La Spezia and deputy mayor of La Spezia Maria Grazia Frijia, which recognizes the title of "national monument" to Italian structures with over 100 years of activity, including the Teatro alla Scala in Milano, the Teatro Fenice in Venice, the Teatro San Carlo in Naples and many others.

The Mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini declares"The Teatro Civico della Spezia will become a "national monument", an important recognition that gives prestige to a structure that represents a symbol of the culture of our municipality. The Civic Theater will no longer be just a place for shows and entertainment, but will be a symbol of our identity and our historical heritage. A structure that has welcomed generations of artists and shows, entertaining La Spezia families since 1846, and which this Administration is committed to enhancing on a daily basis, bringing the best shows and actors of national and international level, and creating productions and co-productions with important theaters of 'Italy. In the near future, a renovation of the interior is expected with new furnishings and which has undergone energy efficiency interventions and the replacement of fixtures thanks to funding from the Pnrr. Interventions that give further decorum to a structure that represents a source of pride for our city and a point of reference for everyone. The recognition obtained by the Civic Theater and other Italian theaters allows the structures to obtain greater protection and promotion and to be able to access exclusive financing for their maintenance.
