The annual event of the National Legality Operational Program entitled “We build Legality. Results, challenges and contributions for the future.”
The appointment concludes a complex journey that began in 2015, and during which the Program also experienced events, such as the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russian/Ukrainian conflict, which affected the country and the Program itself: four budget revisions, dictated by the ability to collect the opportunities offered from Europe and the desire to respond to the new needs emerging from the territories; a complementary support program, financed with national resources.

Overall we are talking about 552 projects financed, for a commitment of 904 million euro. The numbers were presented during the event by Daria Poletti.
The presentation opened with a discussion on the contribution provided by Legality program for cohesion policies, in particular, the impact on the economic and social system of Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Sicily.

Prefect Gambacurta he recalled that thanks to the Legality Programme, Europe and the Ministry of the Interior have offered a development opportunity to the regions that were protagonists of the interventions. Local administrations and territories have been able to grasp it, designing and implementing numerous projects which are slowly acting on these areas of the country where legality must and can become the precondition for building a future of opportunities for all.

The Prefect underlined how the choice to organize the event inPertini-Santoni Institute was carried out with the aim of providing children with a useful toolbox to contribute to the strengthening of legality.
Interspersed with the monologue on legality recited by the actor Ernesto D'Argenio, three thematic talks took place on: innovation for development; confiscated assets, social inclusion.

The event was concluded with a statement from Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi who, during his speech, underlined how “talking about legality and, above all, practicing it, does not just mean fighting crime. It means triggering a positive change, in which safety is also guaranteed by the entrenchment of honesty principles." “Legality is something that passes through culture and education. This is also why it is important to be in an educational institution today, the first bastion of the affirmation of legality in society" added the owner of the Interior Ministry.
