Florence, the announcement arrives to support the Tuscan publishing houses that will participate in the Turin Book Fair

The Tuscan publishers who will be present at the Fair will have the possibility of receiving a benefit to reimburse the expenses incurred for participation in the event

Florence, the announcement arrives to support the Tuscan publishing houses that will participate in the Turin Book Fair.

The Region supports Tuscan publishers, culture and creativity. It does so with a public notice on the occasion of the XXXVI edition of the International Book Fair which takes place in Turin this year from 9 to 13 May, an event that brings together the entire book supply chain, from publishing houses to writers to booksellers to librarians, up to agents, illustrators, translators and readers.

The Tuscan publishers who will be present at the Fair will have the possibility of receiving a benefit to reimburse the expenses incurred for participation in the event.

To be awarded the reimbursement they will have to participate in the public notice for expression of interest published on the Region's website, which is aimed at publishing houses with registered or operational headquarters in Tuscany that participate in the Show with their own independent stand.

"It is the first time that we have intervened with a measure of this type to support Tuscan publishers - said president Eugenio Giani – A strong choice that has the aim of making Tuscany's presence at the Show stronger and more coordinated both with the publishers who will participate in the institutional stand and with the publishers who choose to have their own. The Turin Book Fair, a major international cultural festival, represents a unique opportunity for visibility and promotion for all operators in the sector: our commitment in the context of the most important Italian event in the publishing field focuses on the one hand to invest in books and therefore in culture, on the other to promote the image and qualities of Tuscany".

A similar call, aimed at small publishers for their presence in the collective stand of the Regional Council and Council, was promoted by the Legislative Assembly in March. In this case, the deadline for submitting applications has already expired.

"Investing in reading means investing in culture, knowledge and training. In a word: in the growth of our girls and boys. We are proud that this year too there is an all-Tuscan stand at the Book Fair. It will be important - also thanks to the collaboration between the Council and the Regional Council - to promote many publishing realities in our region. We want reading – says the president of the Regional Council Antonio Mazzeo – is increasingly an asset to be made available to all and a real right of access to knowledge".

"Tuscan publishers represent a precious resource for the regional cultural, literary and artistic fabric, playing a fundamental role also in the promotion of emerging authors and experimental projects - declares the president of the culture commission, Cristina Giachi. – The Tuscany Region, supporting their presence at the Turin Motor Show through two tenders, is launching an innovative cultural policy with the aim of encouraging the participation of these entities in a space of opportunities and knowledge at a national and international level such as the Turin Motor Show».

Applications to participate in the Council's announcement must be submitted no later than midnight on 24 April 18.
