Tajani and Crosetto opened the second “Italian Forum on Export Control” at the Farnesina

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani and the Minister of Defense Guido Crosetto, with the Deputy Foreign Minister Edmund Cirielli, they opened yesterday at Ministry of Foreign Affairs il Second Italian Forum on Export Control, dedicated to the Defense sector.

“The Defense sector is one of the spearheads of the Italian economy and is also a driver of innovation, research and development that generates a positive impact on other strategic sectors” commented Tajani, who underlined the Farnesina's commitment to strengthening the relationship between the public and private sectors, at a time in history when international competition is more intense and global challenges are multiple.

“The public sector must continue to play an active role in defining responsible and controlled export policies, a topic to which the Government is strongly committed” indicated the Minister in the presence of over 200 guests, including many representatives of companies in the sector.

The Forum was organized by the National Authority – UAMA of MAECI together with AIAD – Federation of Italian Companies for Aerospace, Defense and Security, with the aim of enhancing the strategic role played by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in these areas and promoting the excellence of Italian industry and technology.

The works were divided into four segments, dedicated respectively to Export control of military materials in the evolving geopolitical context; to the Italian Defense industry as a driver of economic growth; to the opportunities offered by the European Defence Fund and to the national, European and international technical-regulatory aspects related to the export of military materialsRepresentatives of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, the Ministry of Defense, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and the main companies in the sector took part in the Forum.
