Un C-130J of the Italian Air Force took off on November 16 from the airport of Pisa to transport to Cyprus over 15 tons of humanitarian aid collected by the National Confederation of Misericordie of Italy, destined for the Palestinian population.

After arriving at the airport of Larnaca, in Cyprus, the material will subsequently be transferred to Gaza.

The Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, which authorized the special flight, said: “Italy is doing and will continue to do everything possible to alleviate the suffering of the civilian population in Gaza. Once again, the Defense has demonstrated professionalism, responsiveness and great humanity. For this reason, I want to thank all those who, in such a short time, coordinated and allowed the implementation of this initiative, which confirms how committed Italy is to finding a de-escalation and, at the same time, does not forget those who suffer”.

This operation adds to a series of initiatives already undertaken for the transport of humanitarian aid and basic necessities with the aircraft of the Italian Air Force, in addition to the use of the ship "Volcano” of the Navy. During 2024, tests were also carried out Transfers of Palestinian children to receive treatment in Italian pediatric hospitals, using air and naval assets of the Defense.
