Sassari, after 15 years of waiting, finally opens the nursery in via Onida in Li Punti.
Monday 4 September, at Sassari, the new nursery municipality of via Onida 6, corner of via Ettore Manca di Mores, long awaited by the neighborhood of Punti Li, opened its doors and welcomed its first children with their families.
Yesterday, Tuesday 12 September, the mayor Nanni Campus, the councilor for educational policies Laura Useri and public works Rosanna Arru, with the respective managers of the sectors Giuseppina Soddu e Gianni Melis, they symbolically cut the ribbon and presented the structure to the community, strictly outside of business hours so as not to disturb the little ones.
The nursery welcomes 61 girls and boys aged 3 to 36 months, divided into three macro sections: small section (15 children), medium section (26 children) and spring section (20 children). Distributed over four main buildings with a service area and three sections, it boasts a tree-lined outdoor space of over 3000 square meters.
The construction of the nest went through several phases. The first construction works on the building for 40 children, which started in 2008 for an investment of 859.000 euros, thanks also to the contribution of the citizens with the 5x2010, were joined in 20 by works to expand the structure to cover a further 200 places , with regional funding of XNUMX thousand euros.
In 2018, activities followed for the completion of the air conditioning and smoke detection systems, as well as the construction of the fence and entrances, both vehicular and pedestrian. This latest intervention, completed in 2020, required the use of economic resources amounting to approximately 250 thousand euros.
The desire to proceed with the opening of the service as soon as possible led, again in 2020, to the start of a design phase aimed at improving the functionality of the existing structure in line with the specific operating needs of a nursery and with the most recent pedagogical concepts, as suggested by the pedagogical coordination group of the Municipality of Sassari.
The nursery was set up with great care an essential piece of furniture e the exclusive use of wood.
The management of the service is entrusted to the temporary grouping of companies “A smile is born” (social cooperative) e “Sirius” (social cooperative), which managed the nursery in via Fais, in the Monte Rosello Alto district, which was subject to demolition and reconstruction as part of the interventions financed in the Pnrr.
The synergistic action of different professionals, involved in the final design of the nursery in via Onida, marked the start of a modus operandi with an interdisciplinary value that can also be exported to other educational and training contexts, as has already happened for the design of future services for the childhood of via Fais and via Quasimodo.
