Premier Meloni's international commitments, from the Italian-German intergovernmental summit to the update statements on the hostage situation in the conflict in the Middle East

During the day, the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, will participate in the Italian-German intergovernmental summit.
Meanwhile, he made some statements about the hostages in the Middle East: “We will continue to work for their release
of all the hostages and for lasting peace in the Middle East."

Premier Giorgia Meloni Wednesday 22 November 2023 around 13.00pm will attend a joint liaison of the Prime Minister and the German Chancellor at the virtual meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the G20 countries. In the afternoon, still based in Berlin, he will participate in the Italian-German intergovernmental summit.

Regarding the situation in Israel and Palestine, Prime Minister Meloni released a statement, talking about the updates regarding the negotiations for the release of the hostages, seized during theHamas terrorist attack on 7 October.

“I welcome with great relief the agreement to secure the release of the hostages taken by Hamas during the bloody assault against Israel on the 7th October. An agreement that will also allow a humanitarian pause much needed in Gaza”, declared Prime Minister Meloni.
During the statement he continued by confirming the Italian Government's commitment to negotiations and diplomatic actions aimed at a possible peace truce, to protect the human rights of the civilians involved.
“We will continue to work towards the release of all the hostages and for lasting peace in the Middle East. Today Let's think about the families who will finally be able to hug their own again Dear", the Italian Premier continued and concluded.
