Many topics were addressed during the live "Giorgia's Notes": from the G7, to the agreement with Albania, to the path of constitutional reforms announced by the government.

There were many topics addressed by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, during the live broadcast “Giorgia's notes”. The Premier spoke of Italy's presence at the G7, addressed the topic ofagreement with Albania and focused on the path of constitutional reform.

The latter has been one of the most discussed topics in recent days. The Premier, through the live broadcast, dedicated a few words regarding the government's intentions and motivations, delving into the stages of the constitutional path.

“This reform is not useful to some but to everyone, and even those who are opposing it out of political calculation know this, without however offering serious arguments, because they certainly cannot tell the truth. That is, they have become accustomed to governing by losing elections and they want to continue doing so in the future. What do you want to do, do you want to count and decide or stand by and watch while the parties decide for you? This is the question we will ask if necessary and when necessary.", said the Premier, addressing citizens with questions.

“When my government's mandate is over there will also be my photo, it takes time, at least four years”, he added, "How many of these prime ministers and how many of the governments they presided over were actually chosen by the citizens? How many of them would have been prime minister if the citizens had chosen who would govern them? We will never know. What we know for sure is that many governments have passed over the heads of Italians, they were the result of palace games, and when you answer to the palace and not to the citizens, it is the consensus of the palace that interests you, more than that of the citizens. And we saw the results".

“Many things have changed in 75 years. The only thing that has ever changed is the basis of the system, the constitution and that's where we had the courage to intervene. Because I'm not interested in lasting five years if everything goes back to the same after us, if we don't take advantage of the stability of this government to leave Italy with a reform which, whatever happens, will allow Italians to directly choose who governs them, and who owes them govern to have five years to implement his program", continued Meloni, appreciating the courage of the current government to intervene.

The Premier explained the aims of the reform, designating them in a clear project: “The reform is simple, it provides that the powers of the President of the Republic are not affected, except for the fact that the task of forming the government is automatically assigned to the candidate who succeeded in the polls. The Prime Minister is elected directly by the people, at the same time as the Chambers and the electoral law must also guarantee that the elected president has a majority in Parliament. And we foresee an anti-reversal and anti-technical government rule. And finally we abolish future senators for life", declared Giorgia Meloni.
