Palermo, the Sicilian Region among the most efficient according to the "Renewables Goals Index" regarding renewable energy.
Sicily tops the rankings that measure the efficiency of public administrations for issuing authorizations in the renewable energy sector. This is what emerges from the data released by the Observatory “Regions2030”, edited by Public Affairs Advisors and Elemens, relating to the “Renewables Goals Index”, tool created to monitor the authorization activities of local administrations.
«After the record recorded by our island in recent days for the diffusion of broadband – underlines the president of the Region Nello Musumeci - we also record the evaluation of excellence, by a third-party body, of the activity carried out by the regional government on the renewables front. An ongoing recognition of the activity we have carried out with the departments responsible for the matter since we took office. We are aware that on this front we still have to work hard to make Sicily a model in the production of energy from all the sources available in our territory".
According to the report data, in fact, the global assessment of the renewable energy transition shows that Sicily stands out, compared to other regions, in terms of strong attractiveness and planning capacity.
«This positive result, which is in fact the result of the attention that the Musumeci government has always placed on the topic of Energy, which is more relevant today than ever - comments the regional energy councilor Daniela Baglieri – is also demonstrated by the recent approval of the regional energy plan (Pears), which makes Sicily one of the few regions in Italy to have equipped itself with an instrument planning in line with the renewable development objectives dictated for 2030. We had prepared ourselves, in some ways anticipating the times, and we are ready to seize a unique and unrepeatable opportunity for renewal."
«The Sicilian Region – adds the regional councilor for Territory and Environment, Toto Cordaro – given a high number of projects presented, stood out, in absolute values, for assessments and authorizations issued as well as for the high proactivity of the administrative management performance of the photovoltaic and wind projects. The result pursued testifies to the fruitful work carried out by the Musumeci government in the environmental and energy fields."
