The president of the Sicilian Region Renato Schifani expresses satisfaction with the green light from the National Council of Public Works for the project for the construction of the new pediatric center in Palermo.

«Finally - says Schifani, who this morning carried out an inspection in the Malatacca district, where the Center will be built  – after a complex process to unblock this important work, which has been stopped since 2017, the last step has also been completed. Since taking office, my government has worked to restart the process of creating an excellent maternal and child healthcare facility which risked remaining yet another unfinished project, essential for the care of children and thus putting an end to the journeys of hope».

The construction site had been at a standstill for six years due to the bankruptcy of the company that had won the contract. The pool of professionals who oversaw the design updated the document in four months to adapt it to new needs, and now, after having recovered a further loan of 120 million euros, the tender will be published by the summer .
