A bilateral meeting between representatives of the Government and those of the Holy See was held at Palazzo Chigi.
It took place Tuesday 14 November 2023 at Palazzo Chigi thebilateral meeting between the Italian Government and the Holy See in view of the Jubilee of the Catholic Church in 2025. The meeting follows the one held last April 19 in the Consistory Hall of the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican.
Together with Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, on the Italian side were present: the Vice President Tajani, the undersecretary to the Presidency of the Mantovano Council, the ministers of the Interior Piantedosi, of Economy and Finance Giorgetti, of Culture Sangiuliano, of Health Schillaci, of European Affairs Fitto, of Tourism Santanchè, for the Disabled Locatelli. Also present were the mayor of Rome and extraordinary government commissioner for the Jubilee Gualtieri, the president of the Lazio Region Rocca and the prefect of Rome Giannini.
For the Holy See they were present the Secretary of State, His Eminence Cardinal Parolin, the Pro-prefect of the Dicastery for
Evangelization, HE Msgr. Fisichella, the Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, HE Msgr.
Gallagher, the Undersecretary of the Dicastery for Evangelization, Msgr. Bell, the Councilor for General Affairs, Msgr. Campisi,
the Deputy Secretary General of the Governorate of the Vatican City State, Puglisi Alibrandi, the Deputy Director of Infrastructures and Services Screpanti and the Deputy Director of Security and Civil Protection Services Giulietti.
During the meeting, which lasted about an hour, both parties expressed appreciation for the fruitful and intense collaboration between Italy and the Holy See for the organization of a historic and global event that will bring millions of pilgrims from all over the world in Rome and Italy. The control room located in Palazzo Chigi and which has met every 15 days in recent months will continue to coordinate and monitor the progress of the works. It was reiterated thealso cultural importance, Over which spiritual, of the event and the progress of the plan of works and interventions connected to the Jubilee was taken stock of.
