Oristano, the new organization of the Sa Rodia vaccination hub
The hub will also work regularly during the Christmas holidays
ORistano, organization of people waiting in two rows inside the building, sheltered under the gazebos outside, presence of a security guard who will support the volunteers of the Civil Protection associations who will be provided with two-way radios to improve communications and improve the addressing of people waiting, the start of the vaccination campaign for some categories such as healthcare workers and police force personnel at the laboratories of the San Martino Hospital.
These are the main operational decisions for the Sa Rodia vaccination hub that were adopted this morning during a meeting requested by the Mayor of Oristano Andrea Lutzu and attended by the Commissioner of the ASSL Giorgio Steri and the other top management of the health company , the managers of the Civil Protection, the local police and the voluntary associations, ProcivArci and Lavos, involved in the vaccination center of the Palasport of Oristano.
“The significant increase in requests for the administration of the third dose of the anti-Covid vaccine, combined with the bad weather of recent weeks, has led to a series of inconveniences that needed to be resolved – explains Mayor Lutzu -. Together with the ASSL leaders and the other subjects involved in the vaccination hub, we have identified some measures which, combined with scrupulous respect for the appointment, should contribute to improving the situation. Doubling the queues inside the stadium, for example, allows us to increase the number of people who are sheltered and warm and reduce inconvenience outside the structure".
“It is necessary to remember that you can only go to the vaccination center if you have a reservation – adds Mayor Lutzu -. The only exception concerns people who have to undergo the first dose who can show up without a reservation. Equally important is respecting the time: the reception staff calls according to the booking time. Showing up early only causes crowding, generates inconvenience and encourages delays in operations. Respecting the timetables, however, allows for the rapid and easier clearing of queues and the carrying out of the administration of vaccines".
During the meeting it was underlined that the hub will also operate regularly during the Christmas holidays. Finally, the request for the presence of doctors in 10 stations and that of the drive-in was confirmed for a better offer of the service to all citizens.
