Minister Tajani in Munich for meetings with the Italian community, the business system and at the European Southern Observatory

The Vice President of the Council and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Antonio Tajani, will go on a mission today to Monaco of BavariaThe Minister will speak via video link at the annual meeting for the promotion of the Italian System and consular coordination in Germany, to then meet the representatives of the Italian community, including entrepreneurs, scientific researchers and representatives of civil society.

“With 164 billion euros of economic exchange in 2023, Germany is our first trading partner: it is therefore essential to continue to implement effective economic diplomacy, with close coordination between all the actors of the Italian System” commented Minister Tajani. “The Italian community in Germany represents an extraordinary vehicle for strengthening relations between our two countries: for this reason, we are working on strengthening our consular network and on the digitalization of services to offer increasingly rapid and effective solutions to the million Italians who live on German soil” he continued the owner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Deputy Prime Minister will also meet the management of the European Southern Observatory (ESO), the main research structure in Europe in the astronomical sector, based in Munich and of which Italy is one of the 16 Member States. “We are proud to support the work of ESO, one of the world's leading astronomical observatories in a key area for international scientific cooperation,” concluded the Vice President of the Council.

On the occasion of the visit, Minister Tajani will also meet the President of the European People's Party, Manfred weber.
