Mattarella inaugurates Casa Italia in Paris: «It shows the genius of our country».

The president of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, arrived at Casa Italia, set up in Pre-Catelan for Paris 2024, and inaugurated the blue headquarters, a few hours from opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Il Head of State, accompanied by the daughter Laura and by the Italian ambassador in Paris, Emanuela D'Alessandro, was welcomed by the president of CONI, Giovanni Malago, and by the general secretary of CONI and head of the Italian mission in Paris 2024, Carlo Morati.

«At the Olympic Village, yesterday, I met the Italian athletes and other sportsmen from all over the world: from there comes a beautiful message of encounter and friendship that goes beyond the world of sport»he said Mattarella.

Malagò thanked him for his presence «honors the world of sport». "This – recalled the CONI president – it is an iconic place because here Baron De Coubertin studied the regulations in 1894 and toasted the modern Olympic Games". Malagò cut the ribbon of Casa Italia together with President Mattarella's daughter, Laura, and the Italian ambassador in Paris, Emanuela D'Alessandro.

Mattarella then had lunch at Casa Italia, together with the CONI leaders, the Italian representatives in the IOC and five "ambassadors" of Italian sport: Francesca Schiavone, Elisa Di Francisca, Daniele Garozzo, Antonio Rossi and Luigi Busà.
