Lombardy, bad weather in Bergamo, Brescia and Como: the Region allocates 1,2 million euros for the restoration of the territory

Lombardy, more than 1.200.000 euros to finance various restoration interventions in the territories of Bresciano, Comasco and Bergamasco. This is the new measure of the Lombardy Region implemented following the latest calamitous events with the aim of safeguarding the safety of the inhabitants and mitigating any hydrogeological risks.

“For some time – explained the Territorial Councilor of the Lombardy Region – we have been faced with climate changes which are the cause of calamitous events of extraordinary intensity and difficult to predict, which is another reason to prevent and not be caught unprepared. The making available of these funds is proof of the umpteenth attention that the regional institution reserves for the populations affected by this summer's stormy phenomena, as already done in the past".

“In the period 2018-2019 – he recalled – more than 170 million of regional funds were invested in hydrogeological works alone. Investments that have helped make the difference."

“I would also like to remind you that, precisely to mitigate any risks, the Lombardy Region – concluded the councilor – is developing an extraordinary plan for the defense of the soil and against hydrogeological risk to intervene on the main critical issues of our territory”.

Below are the interventions that will be carried out in the next semester:

– Municipality of Rogno/BG (damaged embankment of the Oglio river): 250.000 euros;

– Municipality of Costa Volpino/BG (Oglio erosion): 200.000 euros;

– Municipality of Sovere/BG (restoration of bridles and embankments): 180.000 euros;

– Municipality of Ono San Pietro/BS (removal of material near the Ble stream): 150.000 euros;

– Municipality of San Siro – San Martino/CO (construction of rockfall barriers to mitigate risks of landslides): 202.000 euros;

– Municipality of Foppolo/BG (avalanche protection): 300.000 euros.
