Lombardy Region: 20,7 million euros to upgrade approximately 700 Aler homes

Lombardy Region puts in place 20.780.000 € is preferably used for redevelopment of approximately 700 Aler homes vacant in the provinces of Milano, Bergamo, Lecco and Sondrio. This is provided for by a resolution approved by the Regional Council on the proposal of the Councillor for Housing and Social Housing, Paul Franco.

THE RESOURCES –

In particular, 18.500.000 € they are destined for Aler Milano, while 2.280.000 will go to Aler Bergamo-Lecco-Sondrio. As regards Bergamo, Lecco and Sondrio, the distribution of funds in the various provinces will be defined by a subsequent provision of the competent Aler.

“We have recovered important resources – highlights the councilor franc – to give a new and decisive boost to the redevelopment and reassignment of vacant housing, one of the qualifying points of the 'Mission Lombardy', the regional plan for the relaunch of housing policies that we are carrying forward with conviction”.

RECOVERY PROGRAMS –

“We also wanted to bring about a change of pace on the subject of maintenance of public housing – he underlines franc – financing various recovery programs and setting stringent objectives for the ALERs: the works must be carried out in adequate time and in a workmanlike manner, so as to provide for a rapid reassignment of the homes to the citizens who are entitled to them based on the rankings”.

THE SITE INSPECTIONS –

The commissioner franc regularly carries out inspections of Aler properties throughout Lombardy to take stock together with the top management of Aler: "The visits to the territories - says Franco - are useful to see the situation first-hand, talk to residents and evaluate the conditions of the different contexts by establishing priorities for action. I carried out the last inspection a handful of days ago in Seriate, in the province of Bergamo, ensuring that we would find the funds for maintenance work. And that is what we have concretely done today with the approved resolution".
