Lecco, renaturalization intervention in the Erna plains, dismantling of plants

Lecco, completed at the beginning of June, after 15 days of work and approximately 70 transport operations of the material downstream by helicopter, the dismantling and removal operations of the old ski lifts which at Piani d'Erna had been waiting for years to be disposed of because they were unused.

The dismantling works of the Chignolo, Roccia, Teggia and Bocca 2 ski lifts and of the cableway were carried out by ITB (Imprese Turistiche Barziesi), manager of the cableway system that leads from Versasio to Piani d'Erna, as part of the agreements provided for by the agreement that regulates its management.

“An important intervention for the renaturalization of a splendid area like that of Erna – underlines the environment councilor of the Municipality of Lecco Alessio Dossi. These facilities represented good memories for the people of Lecco, because many learned to ski there. However, for years now, the artefacts had been disused because it no longer snows at those altitudes, with all due respect to those who claim that climate change is an invention and that it has no impact on our territory and also on its economy. This, of course, is just one of many examples, in reality. It was therefore necessary to intervene for a removal that would allow the landscape to be restored so that the Piani d'Erna can remain and grow also as an attractive tourist destination".
