How the “Lombardia World Summit 2023” went: from Giorgia Meloni's speech to Fontana's
The speeches of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Minister Tajani and the Lombard governor Attilo Fontana at the "Lombardy World Summit 2023".
Lombardy is the economic engine of Italy and Europe and the driving force behind national exports. Thus, in a nutshell, the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, represented what was then, during the day, the common denominator of the Lombardy World Summit 2023.
Opening the proceedings with a video link, the Prime Minister highlighted how Lombardy “is a model that tells an entirely Italian story”.
In thanking Giorgia Meloni, the Lombard governor Attilio Fontana confirmed “the increasingly international character of Lombardy, a Region capable of acting in the changing world by interpreting all the most important aspects to always keep up with the times”.
A mention of autonomy could not be missing: “Giorgia Meloni made it clear that one can be a supporter of autonomy and of the entire country at the same time. Autonomy is good for all of Italy."
The President of the Senate Ignazio La Russa is also on the same wavelength. “Lombardy - he said - it is a unique territory. Capable of turning projects into reality and able to offer a chance to everyone."
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, defined Lombardy “a fundamental region for the entire country. There is a quality economy here and Milano it is the capital. There are many entrepreneurs in this area who operate positively and make internationalization a winning model for Italy in the world".
The mayor of Milano, Giuseppe Sala, instead highlighted how “Lombardy and Milano have the task of helping the country grow as a whole. For this reason we have tried to multiply forms of collaboration and partnership with different national and international realities, from economics to culture, to sport up to environmental sustainability".
To close the thread of the day, the president of Confindustria, Carlo Bonomi: “A strong Lombardy makes Italy strong. We are all working together towards solutions that focus on growth and innovation, strengthening the leading role of Lombardy for the benefit of the entire national economy".
And then a gesture with great symbolic value, namely the positioning of a red bench, right outside the IBM Studios to remember Giulia and all the other women victims of violence.
