Grosseto, the Municipality involved in solidarity with the Turkish people hit by the earthquake.
The devastating earthquake that struck in recent days Turkey , Syria has caused, according to the latest updated balance sheet, over 40 thousand victims, throwing you into despair hundreds of thousands of families. Today more than ever it is necessary to intervene with actions of concrete solidarity and support in favor of the affected population, making available all those basic necessities that are essential to face these moments.
even the City of Grosseto has activated, in collaboration with the Civil protection and with the bush Turkish community who lives in the city, a collection open to all citizens who want to make their contribution. For this purpose the Peace Hall di via England, currently also used as a first reception hub foremergency Ukraine, as a place to concentrate the collection of basic necessities to deal with the first emergencies.
“When – comment the mayor Antonfrancesco Vivarelli Colonna andCivil Protection councilor Riccardo Megale – the need to have a suitable place for this initiative was expressed to us, we immediately set in motion to prepare everything needed at thePeace hub. A sincere thank you, in this regard, goes to municipal councilor Andrea Vasellini, who, by promoting the initiative, acted as an intermediary between theadministration and representatives of the Turkish community. Furthermore, our gratitude goes to the municipality's Civil Protection office, which as always immediately took action to set up the collection center in every detail".
Fazil Yildiran, who was received today, representing the Turkish community residing in the area, in the mayor's office, added: "We are truly grateful to mayor Vivarelli Colonna, councilor Megale, councilor Vasellini and the Civil Protection for their commitment and the timeliness you have shown in supporting our population in these painful days. On behalf of approximately 500 Turkish families of the territory, thank you very much."
