The European Executive accepts the request to allow a phase of gradual and sustainable exit from the support measures adopted by the Government in recent months. Giorgia Meloni on the executive's response “It will allow us a gradual exit from the support measures.”
“We welcome the today's decision by the European Commission to extend some of the measures provided for by the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework for State Aid until the end of June 2024", says the Premier.
Regarding the executive's response on the issue of the support measures adopted by the Government in the last period, the Prime Minister continues: “The European Executive thus accepts the request and has taken it forward first of all from Italy, to allow a phase of gradual exit and sustainable by support measures adopted by the Government in past months. This decision, among other things, will allow the Italian government to continue to support businesses and workers,
especially women, young people and the most needy social groups, especially in the areas of Southern Italy that still have to regain competitiveness, while opening up the possibility of work with the European Commission on the future definition of more targeted and more structural measures to stimulate growth and the ability to attract investments in our Regions of the South".
“This is a further step, alongside the creation of more effective and strategic management of funds cohesion, to increase competitiveness and development opportunities economy of our South and of the entire country", concludes Giorgia Meloni.
