Emilia Romagna: 11,5 million euros for 176 interventions on damaged roads, infrastructures and waterways

Emilia Romagna. Green light from the Region to the 11,5 million euro plan for 176 interventions on roads, infrastructure and waterways damaged by the rains of October and November 2023.
The construction sites will involve the provinces of Piacenza, Parma, Reggio-Emilia, Modena, Bologna and Ravenna. Over 82 thousand euros intended for families evacuated from their homes: applications to request the contribution are due by May 20th.
Bologna – A package of 176 interventions to reopen and clear roads occupied by debris, rearrange embankments and waterways, consolidate slopes and infrastructures affected by bad weather. The Region approved a plan worth over 11,5 million euros which contains the list of the first urgent interventions to be carried out in Emilia-Romagna, and the directives that make contributions available for citizens and families who have had to leave their homes.
The construction sites (around sixty municipalities involved) will concern the works necessary to repair the damage caused by the intense rainfall which, between 23 October and the first days of November 2023, caused the provinces of Piacenza, Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna and Ravenna were hit hard with flooding and instability, interruptions to traffic, disruptions, damage to buildings and infrastructures.
The interventions will be financed with the resources assigned by the Government following the declaration of the national state of emergency and the subsequent approval of the works by the national Department of Civil Protection.
Resources and construction sites by province
In detail, the programming in the six provinces includes 17 interventions in the Bologna area with an investment of approximately 750 thousand euros; 7 in the Modena area with an investment of almost 800 thousand euros; 92 in the Parma area for over 5 million euros; 40 in the Piacenza area for over 3,6 million euros; 11 in the Reggio Emilia area with an investment of more than 380 thousand euros; 7 in the Ravenna area, for more than 500 thousand euros. Finally, an intervention of 300 thousand euros is planned between the provinces of Ravenna and Bologna and another of 200 thousand euros, between the provinces of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
The contribution for independent accommodation
In addition to the resources for the construction sites, the plan provides for a total amount of approximately 82 thousand euros for contributions to families who have identified independent temporary accommodation. By May 20, 2024, citizens who lived in the house evicted in compliance with specific municipal ordinances can submit a request to the municipality of residence to obtain the contribution for independent accommodation (Cas).
This is financial support to cover the costs of staying away from home, which varies depending on the number of members of the family unit. It goes from 400 euros per month for families with a single member to 500 for 2 units, 700 for three and 800 for four, up to a maximum of 900 euros for five or more members. If there are people over 65 years old, disabled or disabled with a disability percentage of no less than 67%, you will receive an additional bonus of 200 euros per month for each of the indicated subjects. The economic benefits are granted from the day of eviction or evacuation of the property until the definitive return to one's home. The intervention plan was prepared by the regional Agency for Territorial Security and Civil Protection, in collaboration with all the implementing bodies. The interventions must be entrusted within 90 days and completed within 18 months.
