Desenzano del Garda, work on the city's railway overpass has been completed and work continues on the construction site for the eastern variant of Montichiari.

The extraordinary maintenance works on the Desenzano del Garda (BS) bridge over the railway have been completed Milano-Venice, while the construction site for the construction of the Eastern Variant of Montichiari (Brescia) continues. This is what emerged from the inspections carried out today in the province of Brescia by the regional councilor for Infrastructure, Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Claudia Maria Terzi. Also present were the president of the Province of Brescia, Samuele Alghisi, the mayor of Montichiari, Marco Togni, and the mayor of Desenzano del Garda, Guido Mal winter.

REGIONAL FUNDING - The Region fully financed the renovation of the Desenzano railway overpass by allocating 1 million euros through the Lombardy Plan. For the Eastern Variation of Montichiari, however, the regional allocation is 8,5 million euros out of a total of 9,5, with 1 million euros paid by the Municipality of Montichiari.

DESENZANO BRIDGE, COMMITMENT TO SAFETY - “By Region – explains councilor Terzi – infrastructure safety is a priority. For this reason we also finance maintenance interventions for works whose responsibility lies with other bodies, such as the Province in the case of the Desenzano railway overpass. The Region has guaranteed the allocation with the first tranche of funds from the Lombardy Plan and the work has now been completed. The intervention made it possible to eliminate restrictions on the transit of heavy vehicles. We are talking about a strategic bridge that insists on the SP13 which connects the A4 motorway with Lake Garda, passing over the railway Milano-Venice".

DESENZANO BRIDGE, THE INTERVENTION – Extraordinary maintenance interventions were carried out and the work was completely restored. Among the results is the regulatory adaptation of the structure to RFI's needs and the reopening to the transit of heavy vehicles and exceptional loads.

EAST VARIANT OF MONTICHIARI, REGION NEXT TO THE TERRITORY - “The financing of the Montichiari Eastern Variation – continues Terzi – signals, once again, how the Region is concretely close to the territory. We provide decisive economic support and follow the evolution of the situation step by step. For this reason I wanted to personally see the construction site of a work long awaited by residents, but also by those who today find themselves traveling along the current route. The intervention has great value because first of all it will alleviate the passing traffic which now impacts the town centre, where unfortunately there have been no shortage of accidents in recent years. The 'transfer' of transit flows will give residents breathing space and make the mobility of the area more efficient. Therefore, the Region's economic support translates into greater safety and better traffic."

EAST VARIANT OF MONTICHIARI, THE INTERVENTION – The new route completes the Eastern Variant of Montichiari, preventing vehicles arriving from the former provincial road 668 from entering the town. It is inserted between the 668 'Lenese' and the former provincial road 236 'Goitese'. The work goes from the roundabout on the provincial road 236 (Goitese) in the 'Boschetti' area, up to the provincial road 'Lenese' near the existing intersection with the 'Prati' road in the municipality of Calcinato. The new extra-urban road will be approximately 2.935 meters long, there will be two roundabouts necessary to connect with the existing road network, and there will be another 825 meters of road junctions to connect the existing road network to the roundabouts. Then, 595 meters of counter-roads necessary for access to the agricultural land bordering the new route will be built, and finally four underpasses will be built to give continuity to the local roads (already existing) and guarantee access to the agricultural companies located in the area. The construction site opened earlier this year.
