Carabinieri: lectio magistralis by Minister Crosetto at the Officers' School.

This morning, at the Great Hall of the Carabinieri Officers' School in Rome, the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, held a keynote on the topic "Defense: a value to know, a necessary investment, a bastion of freedom and democracy".

The Minister, accompanied by the Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Giuseppe Cable Dragon, was welcomed by Gen. CA Teo Luzi, General Commander of the Army, and by Gen. D. Claudio Domizi, Commander of the Carabinieri Officers School.

Also present at the meeting were the leaders of the Armed Forces, Gen. CA Carmine Masiello, Head of EMS, Adm. team Enrico Credendino, Head of SMM, Gen. SA Luca Goretti, Chief of SMA, as well as a representation of students from the Italian Army Application School in Turin, the Air Force Academy in Pozzuoli and the Navy Academy in Livorno.

After the greeting address from the Commander of the Officers School, the Minister of Defense he took the floor and greeted the students present, who all belong to the same "Defense" organization. «I'm not here to teach - he said - but to bring an experience and stimulate reflections in those who, like you, have chosen to represent the State. The point is not where you arrive but the effort made along the way. You will have power that is not yours but assigned to you by the country you have chosen to serve by joining the Defense family".

The political summit continued by highlighting the main role of the Constitution and the Law, placed above all ambition and competition, which must inspire the activity of each of us pursuing the sole objective of serving the country.

The Minister thus focused attention on the importance of enriching oneself daily from a professional and ethical-moral point of view, learning from every single person around us, regardless of the social category they occupy.

Crosetto he then focused on the awareness of the difficult path undertaken by the young officers of the Armed Forces, stating: «Believing in Defense means making courageous and far-sighted choices to successfully face a complex evolutionary process that allows the Armed Forces to guarantee the safety and well-being of citizens and safeguard democracy and free institutions».

In concluding, the Minister wanted to send an important message to future leaders of the Armed Forces, urging them to always be fair in carrying out their duties and demonstrating that they possess a sense of state.
