Campobasso, the urban forestation operation near Via Sicilia has been completed.

With the planting of more a thousand plants, the operation has been completed Forestation urban at some municipal green areas of via Sicily.

This is an intervention for the renaturalisation of the territory and the mitigation of pollution through the planting of many new trees and shrubs which over time will give life to an urban forest with functions of ecological recovery of marginal areas, increase in biodiversity town, hydrogeological defense of the territory.

The project was born from the agreement between Municipality of Campobasso e Climate Network, aSocial enterprise aimed at promoting sustainability and environmental culture through the involvement of citizens and Public administrations in paths of quantification, reduction and compensation of climate impacts and improvement of the territory.

In detail, the planting of both tree species has been planned ruling (I greatness) That dominate (II greatness), with progressive and distributed coverage, as well as a large number of shrubs necessary to achieve the gradual transitions forest – undergrowth – urbanized environment.

Many species have been identified for the intervention, selected on the basis of the potential vegetation of the geobotanical context concerned, made up of typical and native species, on the basis of local edaphic, climatic and morphological factors: Holm oak, English oak, Downy oak, Maple, Poplar, Laurel, Privet, Aleppo pine, Dogwood, and other shrubs, plants coming from local nurseries, certified and accompanied by the new plant passport which guarantees the control and therefore the health of the essences, so as to promote the Italian horticultural supply chain, and avoiding the introduction and spread of diseases and organisms harmful.
